Best Job Board for Reformed Churches
There are a lot of job boards out there and a lot of services that promise to find you candidates for your job openings. Unfortunately, when it comes to job boards for churches, your options are few and far between.
Some secular job boards like Indeed (which has ~1,000 job posts for the term “pastor” at the time of writing this) initially seems promising, but as you gather candidates you will soon realize that you’ll get a lot of job applicants that do not understand your denominational distinctives or sadly may not be Christian at all.
Then when it comes to the reformed faith, your options dwindle pretty much to oblivion as you realize there may be a few job boards like The Gospel Coalition Job Board or certain seminaries, but they aren’t exactly “active” and may not be exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to hiring a candidate.
The best option is (hopefully) obviously someone in your own personal network. Someone who is elder-qualified (if you’re searching for a pastoral role) and comes recommended by others. That said, that’s very difficult to come by unless God providentially provides so it’s helpful to understand if there are other means by which you can find qualified candidates for your reformed church.
So besides for that, there really aren’t many (any?) good options besides for what has already been mentioned. That said… since that was the case and we felt a burden to help reformed churches fill roles in their churches, we’ve created SolaJobs! SolaJobs is a new job board that is meant to aide churches find and fill any position in their church (from pastoral to administrative) in hopes that it provides a central place for more high-quality, qualified leads for church positions.
